The development team behind the PlayStation 2's Dark Cloud series returns to the genre with Rogue Galaxy, an original action role-playing game offering an estimated 100 hours of content. After spending an uneventful life on the desert planet Rosa, a weary lad named Jaster is whisked away on an epic adventure led by the charismatic Dorgengoa and his crew of space pirates. Their goal is to find a lost planet rumored to possess the secret of eternal life, but they are not alone in their efforts.Emissaries from the ruthless Daytron Corporation have been sent to find the planet, and they will stop at nothing to ensure their success. Players will lead an interchangeable party of three characters as they engage in real-time combat across five planets. As Jaster and friends search the galaxy, they can embark on rare item hunts, capture and raise bugs for special tournaments, and even build a factory to forge more than 500 new melee and ranged weapons. Rogue Galaxy also features cel-shaded visuals and more than eight hours of cinematic cut-scenes to further the swashbuckling story line.
LeftyGuitar rates this game: 5/5Rogue Galaxy is an action-RPG by Level-5. The same people who made Dark Cloud. In RG you play as Jaster. A young man who wants to travel to other galaxies. As you travel to other galaxies you will find other companions who join you on your quest.
Each with their own strengths and abilities. You travel to other worlds from your spaceship.
You can upgrade your skills using a unique skill system where you need to use a certain amount of items to upgrade a certain skill. If you like Action-RPGs, you won't miss out here. Give this one a go.
1 rates this game: 5/5Seriously? Okay let me start with it. This is one of THE best JRPGs of the later years of the ps2.
I'll segment my review so that it is easier to readGraphics 8/10The boss fights, character designs and enemy models in this game is well made. Of course, if you are not a fan of the cell shaded graphics that LEVEL-5 has accustomed to you, you may not like it. Overall the graphics are decent.Gameplay 8/10Combat in Rouge Galaxy is simplistic, but what makes it different is its skill trees in game.
You could customized the skill set of each character very decently, and combat becomes a bit repetitive in the long run, but extensive dungeons and varying monsters in each area make up for that.Storyline 10/10This is where it gets good.Ever wondered or dreamed of traveling the vast universe, hoping to go on an adventure of a lifetime when you were a kid? THIS game got it! It's like your childhood dreams of becoming a space explorer came true! It's got that certain feeling of freedom, free spirit and that charm that makes you get stuck to it. The experience of exploration, meeting aliens in other planets, it's like the childhood dream that you've always wanted to come true.Overall, a AA game on the late days of the PS2 in terms of it's storyline. Definitely a MUST play if you are a fan of space and RPGS.
Sorry, you can't ask for game ISO here.I edited your post to prevent deleting your thread. You might not want to do it yourself, but at least having instructions could benefit other users.I didn't know the DVD5 had the end credit removed, I thought they re-coded all the videos to take less size. That's the version I have, but haven't played it yet.I don't remember if there were a DVD9 undub of that game.If it's only the end credit you want to watch, you could probably find it on youtube.if you really want a full DVD9 undub, you'll have to merge it yourself, or ask on another website to get a full ready to burn undub copy. They did compress the videos but apparently it still would not fit on a single layer so they had to remove the end credits. Even though I can watch the end credits on youtube I still want a complete uncompressed DVD9 undub. I read there were two rip kits. One to compress the game to one DVD5 iso and the other to make the game into two DVD5 isos. But that is for the dubbed version and I can only find the kit to compress it to one DVD5. I would not mind doing it myself but to uncompress the undub DVD5 iso back to a DVD9 iso exceeds my knowledge.
I can build a DVD9 iso no problem though with the files ready to go. You can't really convert and uncompress a DVD5 to DVD9, the data is not compressed but re-coded in bad quality and with some deleted files (end credit apparently, and probably some unuseful videos like logo at game launch).you need the original DVD9 JP and US to make a proper DVD9 undub.I guess that will be hard to find someone with the knowledge to do it, that game is old and the capable and interested users already did the work on it. They are probably not interested in doing it again.Maybe new users might get an interest in doing it, but PS2 is not a current gen, so there's not a lot of users willing to do it here. Maybe you'll get more chance on a specialized hacking/translating forum, like romhacking.net (I don't know if they do undub too).but, maybe someone on gbatemp is ready to take on the challenge? Finding both version is maybe the hardest, then you'll have to open each ISO and move files, rebuild the ISO and try.Too bad the PSN version doesn't have language choice. I just wanted to provide an update. I found some information on another forum from a post in 2007 that described extracting the.dat files. After doing more internet searching I found the program xpert 2.0 but it did not have the plugin necessary to extract Rogue Galaxy.
I did some more searching and luckily I found the plugin. So now I can extract the.dat files which contain audio data and I was doing that last night. It takes a while to extract them but now I will be able to do the undub no problem. I am not sure if I need to copy the separate Japanese movie files over too but at least now I can build an undub iso and see. I just wanted to provide an update. I am not sure if I need to copy the separate Japanese movie files over too but at least now I can build an undub iso and see. Okay so I will do my best to provide instructions to how to do it in this post but let me say you need time and patience. Also I had prior experience rebuilding a PS2 DVD9 iso. This was done using a USA iso so I am not sure if it is different for a Europe iso. What you will need:1. CDVD Generator 1.5 or 2.03. HxD Hex Editor or similar program5.
Rogue Galaxy v1.1 Plugin for Xpert6. Rogue Galaxy USA DVD9 iso7. Rogue Galaxy Director's Cut Japan DVD9 iso8. Rogue Galaxy Undub DVD5 isoYou could potentially do without the undub DVD5 iso or the Japan iso but you need at least one of them and I would highly recommend it to be the undub DVD5 iso. Edit: It is actually best to have both the Japan iso and undub DVD5 iso because the undub DVD5 iso has the end credits removed which is a.MVI file and you can only get that from the Japan iso.Steps:1. Extract all the files from the isos into separate folders using Apache.2. Open Xpert 2.0.
Ciaudio vac.2 power supply. Inside and out, this hifi headphone amp uses carefully selected parts. Features: Using my Macbook and a USB DAC (CI Audio Transient MK II) I listened to uncompressed music played through iTunes. The brushed aluminium faceplate incorporates a single 1/4 inch stereo headphone jack, a 2 gain levels button, and a smooth functioning volume knob. The VHP-2 headphone amp served as the amplifier for my Sennheiser HD-600 headphones.
Select the Rogue Galaxy v1.1 plugin. Select the matching.DAT &.HD6 from the iso files in Xpert and extract the LBA.
After that is done you have to close Xpert and reopen it. Then select the plugin and files again. Then extract the files. You have to extract all the.DAT files in this manner but I would recommend you do them one at a time. Do this for the matching.DAT files in the iso.3. After extracting the DATA00.DAT files for each iso then go into the extracted files and you will see a snd2 folder. You have to copy this folder with all the files inside from the extracted undub DVD5 or Japan files and overwrite the corresponding folder in the USA iso.4.
After that is done open Xpert again. Select the DATA00.DAT & DATA00.HD6 files for the USA iso and select rebuild. It will rebuild the.DAT file and save it as I believe NEW-DATA00.DAT. Then close Xpert and reopen it. Then select the NEW-DATA00.DAT file and the DATA00.HD6 file for the USA iso again. Select rebuild LBA. After that you will have a NEW-DATA00.DAT file and a NEW-DATA00.HD6 file.
You now delete the DATA00.DAT & DATA00.HD6 files and rename the new files as DATA00.DAT & DATA00.HD6. You can now delete the extracted DATA00 files for all the isos.5. Now extract the DATA01.DAT files using Xpert for the different isos. Go into the extracted files and you will see two folders.
These two folders both contain sound files but there is a wav folder contained within the eng folder that has a different number of files than the corresponding folder (named jap I believe) in the Japan files. But if you have the undub DVD5 iso it will have the correct number of files within it so you can just copy it over to replace the folder from the USA iso.
The jap folder from the Japan iso has some files the eng folder from the USA iso does not have and vice versa. So basically just replace all the files from the USA iso with the ones from undub DVD5 iso.6. Rebuild DATA01.DAT and Rebuild LBA using Xpert for the USA iso like you did before.7. The files and folders in DATA10.DAT and DATA11.DAT are almost identical to the corresponding DATA00.DAT and DATA01.DAT files so extract them, replace the sound files with the ones from the undub DVD5 iso, and rebuild them like you did for the previous.DAT files.8. Now copy the.MVI files from the MOVIE folder of the Japan iso or undub DVD5 iso and replace the corresponding.MVI files in the USA iso. Since the end credits were removed from the undub DVD5 iso the only place you can get that.MVI file from is the Japan iso.9. Open CDVD Generator.
Now select 'Create New Project' and the select the 'Dual Layer' option. If you are using 2.0 be sure to turn off 'Add Dummy Data' under options (I don't know if it matters but it does lower the size of the iso so that is a good thing). The 'Add Dummy Data' option will turn itself back on if you close and reopen CDVD Generator so keep that in mind. Now add the extracted files and folders from the USA iso by clicking and dragging them to CDVD Generator.
In my experience the order does not matter but I usually do the folders last and the files in alphabetical order. You have to do this for both layers. Now select volume on layer 0 and under 'Disc Name' type 'SCUS97490'. Under 'Producer Name' type 'PLAYSTATION'.
Under 'Copyright Holder' type 'SCEI'. Now save it and name it whatever you like. Select 'Rec' for record and another program will open after some error boxes. Select 'Export Image' and it will create image files split into four files.000,.001,.002,.003. You have to combine them using copy /b in command prompt, or AF7 Merge, or HJSplit should work too but I have not tried it personally. Do this for both layers.10. Open HxD and open the layer 1 (Second Layer) iso file you have just created.
You have to delete the header off the second layer iso before combining it with layer 0. So under edit select 'Select Block' and now select 'dec'. Now select 'Length' and type '32768' for the length. Now click 'OK'.
Now under edit select 'Delete'. It will warn you and after accepting it will delete the header. Now save it and exit.11.
I have found rebuilt PS2 DVD9 isos will not work on my CFW PS3 unless I replace the header on the first layer with the one from the original iso. So open HxD and the original USA iso and use select block like you did before to select the 32768 dec header. Open the layer 0 iso (First Layer) and use select block to select the 32768 dec header again and then select 'Paste Write' under edit. After that is done save it and exit.12. Combine the two layers using copy /b, or AF7 Merge, or HJSplit.13. Congratulations, if you indeed did it.
It is ready to use now.
Download Rogue Galaxy PS2 GAME ISO, Rogue Galaxy is an action role-playing game played from a third-person perspective in which the player moves through a continuous environment, with no load time between overworld exploration and combat. Battles occur as random encounters, a la traditional role-playing video games such as Square’s Final Fantasy X or Level-5’s own Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. However, unlike such games, which feature turn-based combat, Rogue Galaxy uses a real-time hack and slash combat system in which the player fights with a party of three characters. The player has direct control over only one character, although which character this is can be changed at any time. The two NPCs fight independently of the player character, based on the strategy selected prior to the battle. Available strategies include fighting very aggressively, targeting a specific enemy, or not fighting at all.
The strategy can also be changed at any time during the battle. Additionally, the player can issue specific orders to the NPCs during combat, such as having them use an item or activate one of their special abilities.4 NPC allies will also offer advice to the player character, such as suggesting they perform a special move or use a particular item.
